서울대학교 뉴잉글랜드 동창회가 주관하는 온라인 뉴잉글랜드 포럼의
이번 강의 제목은 <유연재료 기술>로, Harvard 대학의 김준수 박사가
맡아 진행하였다.
김준수 박사는 서울대학교 공과대학 기계공학부에서 학사와 석사를
마치고, Harvard 대학교에서 재료및 기계공학으로 박사학위 취득후,
현재 동대학 박사후 연구원으로 있다.
of Sciences)등 저명 학술지에 제 1저자 논문만 15편이상, 총 30여편을 발표한
뛰어난 연구업적을가졌으며 올초 뉴잉글랜드 동창회 장학생으로 선정되기도
하였다.
특히 이번 포럼에서는 비전공자들도 이해할 수 있게 쉽고 재미있게 강연을 하였다.
올해로 3년째를 맞는 뉴잉글랜드 포럼은 서울대 동문뿐 아니라 지역사회에도
열려 있는 강좌로 관심있는 분들은 누구나 참석할 수 있다.

Abstract
Soft materials, such as rubbers and gels, have been heavily studied
in recent decades. Their mechanical properties are similar to human
tissue, allowing us to make devices and surgical tools more effective
and biocompatible. In this talk, I will first discuss the recent progress
of soft materials technology in diverse fields, including drug delivery,
tissue engineering, robotics, surgical tools, and wearable devices.
Next, I will introduce the efforts on making soft materials durable.
The basic concepts of fracture mechanics will also be presented to
understand the principle.
